Photography, in many ways, has set me free. When I first bought my camera, I viewed it as a tool that would empower me to create art, but really, it just allowed me to discover that I had that power all along.

Behind the lens of a camera, I am a different person. Liberated. No longer am I judged by the number on the scale, the inches around my thighs, or the amount of flesh I can pinch on my stomach, but rather by the magnitude of what I create. It’s thrilling, escaping from the darkness that is an eating disorder and slipping lightly into a whole new vision of the world. When photographing, I see only beauty because that’s all I’m looking for.

Reflected through glass, life becomes sparkling, enchanting, magical. Imagination brought to life.
